Concrete Foundations Take Shape at the COAF SMART Center in Armavir

Construction at the COAF SMART Center in Armavir continues to gain momentum, with one of the project's most significant milestones now underway: the concrete foundations are taking shape.
The SMART center will be Armenia’s second, after its flagship COAF Youredjian SMART Center in Lori, offering cost free afterschool programs to rural youth.
Building Armenia's First LEED Gold-Certified Facility
Sustainability is embedded in every stage of construction. The Armavir SMART Center is being built to achieve LEED Gold certification, making it the first building in Armenia to meet this internationally recognized standard for sustainable, energy-efficient design.
Installation has also begun on the campus's solar power station. Positioned above the future open-air parking area, the system will generate clean, renewable energy while doubling as a shaded parking canopy.

The Next SMART Campus—Expanding Horizons in Armavir
A COAF SMART Campus is more than a free afterschool program—it is an ecosystem designed to strengthen the future of rural Armenia. The Armavir site will include:
SMART Center, In Construction
A cost-free afterschool program for rural youth, offering programs in technology, arts, entrepreneurship, and agriculture.
COAF Youredjian Child and Family Center (CFC), Completed in 2024
Already rising out of the campus, the COAF Youredjian CFC offers early childhood education in addition to access to social workers, speech therapists, and child psychologists. The center is also a resource hub for capacity building of social emotional health professionals in the region as a way of scaling to reach more youth.
Agrotech School, Planned
COAF is also developing an agricultural center, designed to train, equip, and empower local farmers and stimulate the rural economy.
The Armavir SMART Center is on schedule to be completed in 2028. Two more SMART Centers are in development for Goris in Kapan, both in the southern region of Syunik.
