70 Scholars, 1 New Chapter: Meet the 2026–2027 COAF Youredjian Scholarship Cohort

Every September, a new group of young people steps into something bigger than a scholarship. On September 14, it was this year's turn.

At COAF's annual scholarship celebration, hosted by Jack Youredjian, the newest scholars of the COAF Youredjian Scholarship and Career Development Program joined a growing network of COAF scholars and alumni. Jack's commitment to Armenia's bright young minds has made this evening a tradition, and for him each new cohort is a promise renewed.

Earned, Not Given

This year, 245 students applied. Of the 206 who sat for interviews, 70 earned their place.

They arrive with ambitions as varied as the regions they come from: Armavir, Lori, Tavush, Aragatsotn, and Shirak. Lori and Armavir alone accounted for 81% of applicants. Many are pursuing the fields Armenia needs most right now: agriculture, construction, industry, high technologies, economics, and STEM.

Where the Real Work Begins

The scholarship is only the beginning — a launchpad for a year of guided growth. Like the cohorts before them, these scholars will take part in career-readiness trainings, English-language learning, professional workshops, conversations with experts, internships, and clubs, all designed to help them thrive at university and beyond.

They will also give back. Scholars design and carry out community development projects, turning their knowledge and ideas into change their neighbors can see.

This year, the program also raises the bar with a new English-language proficiency requirement, preparing scholars for a world where English opens academic, professional, and international doors.
