YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Sustainable Business Development Manager to oversee the smooth operations and growth of our existing businesses—hotel, visitor center, honey —and to lead our expansion into agriculture, renewable energy initiatives and other revenue-generating areas.
The ideal candidate will have diverse experience in business strategy, management, and growth, with a passion for making a social impact. They will work closely with the leadership team to define business strategies, drive performance, and ensure the sustainability of our business efforts.
YOUR TEAM
Taking on the role of Sustainable Business Development Manager role means you’ll be an essential part of the COAF team. You’ll work under the direct supervision of the COO.
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
- Develop and implement a long-term business strategy to ensure the growth and sustainability of our current operations.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, particularly in agriculture and in renewable energy initiatives while aligning with our social mission.
- Ensure profitable operations of existing business units and seek innovative solutions to increase efficiency and impact.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND GROWTH
- Oversee day-to-day operations of our existing business components, ensuring they meet performance and financial goals.
- Define KPIs, drive performance, and ensure business units align with the overall goals of COAF.
- Monitor industry trends and markets to identify new business opportunities and innovative practices.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Develop and manage business budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Analyze financial reports, providing insights and solutions to improve business outcomes.
- Ensure that business profits are efficiently reinvested into social projects.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across the business units.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and efficiency.
NEW PARTNERSHIPS AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to secure resources, partnerships, and investments to further diversify revenue streams.
- Build relationships with community members, customers, suppliers, and partners to enhance business and social impact.
SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL IMPACT
- Ensure that all business activities are aligned with our mission
- Drive initiatives that promote sustainability, ethical practices, and community involvement.
YOU
We’re expecting your best and require that:
YOU KNOW
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field (an advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred).
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, financial analysis, and profit optimization.
- Proven experience in developing and executing business strategies that drive growth and sustainability.
YOU CAN
- Lead and manage teams with a collaborative, results-oriented approach.
- A strong communicator and negotiator, with excellent relationship-building skills.
YOU ARE
- Experienced with at least 10 years in business development, strategic management, or operations, ideally across diverse sectors such as hospitality, agriculture, or production.
- A visionary thinker, capable of identifying and seizing new opportunities.
- Passionate about social impact, sustainability, and community development.
WE ARE
The “Children of Armenia” Charitable Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, healthcare, child and family services, as well as social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 82 villages and communities across the country with an investment of more than $70 million, impacting well over 107,000 people across rural Armenia.
Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and is presently being replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debed, Lori Region.
