Margahovit: mountains everywhere

If wherever you look, there is a mountain, then you can rest assured that you’re in Margahovit village of the Lori region. The mountains are so close here that it seems as if you could stretch out your hand and make a snowball out of the snow covering the mountain peaks. And if you go down the slope with a slide, you will find yourself at the foot of the mountain, embraced by spring.

As soon as the meadows bloom, the villagers take the herd to the mountains, where the air is fresher and the grass is greener and lusher.

Those who stay below cultivate the garden near the house. Margahovit is nourished by its mountains and its soil.

As soon as the bell rings, the children go out to the playground.

Margahovit’s schoolchildren take their lessons outdoors in sunny weather.

The new football field is a favorite place for the children of the village.

Everything is clear here: boys play football while girls cheer.

Vegetables, especially cabbage and potatoes, are mainly grown in the plot next to the house.

The women are preparing lunch.

The 83-year-old grandmother Emma can’t sit idle even for a second. She says that even when there is no work, she always finds something to do.
