January Chronicles and Heartwarming Highlights

Welcome to the January edition of COAF Monthly Digest! As we kick off the new year, we are excited to share the inspiring journey we’ve had so far and the promising ventures that lie ahead.

BREAKING GROUNDS, BUILDING DREAMS

Reflecting on COAF’s transformative journey over 20 years, we’re excited to announce a new chapter in Armavir. Thanks to a generous donation from Hagop Youredjian, the COAF Child and Family Center, the first component of the SMART Campus, will soon rise in Myasnikyan village.

On January 17, the groundbreaking ceremony for the center took place, attended by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan; Governor of Armavir David Khudatyan; Mayor of Armavir Varsham Sargsyan; Hagop Youredjian, founder of the Youredjian Family Charitable Foundation—a steadfast supporter of COAF; Ara Barsam, Global Executive Director of COAF; and Liana Ghaltagchyan, Managing Director.. In just a few months, our expanded team will offer a diverse range of child development programs and services for over 3,000 children across 14 communities in the Armavir region.

RESUMING SMART PROGRAMS IN THE SNOWY DEBET

Waking up from a restful holiday slumber, we’re diving back into action with our SMART programs amidst the snow-covered landscapes of Debet. As the year began, we reconnected with parents and children who, having been displaced from Artsakh, have found a new home in COAF beneficiary communities in Lori. They’ve enthusiastically embraced our SMART adaptation program and are actively participating in the initiatives within the framework of COAF’s project H.O.P.E. This year holds the promise of numerous rich and multi-level projects, all designed to nurture the talents of our students!

FINDING H.O.P.E. IN DEBET

COAF’s Project H.O.P.E. is reaching new heights of excitement, all thanks to our invaluable partner, HSBC Armenia. Through this successful collaboration, two large families, Mikaelyan and Babayan, displaced from Artsakh, recently received fully renovated houses in the Lori region. These homes now boast all the essential amenities, ensuring a comfortable and dignified life for these deserving families.

To our donors, supporters, dedicated COAF team, and the inspiring kids brightening our days, thank you for your unwavering commitment and support.

Stay tuned for more updates on our transformative journey. Together, let’s make 2024 a year of positive change and endless possibilities!
