External relations manager

YOUR ROLE

As the External Relations Manager, you will drive COAF’s strategic goals by establishing and strengthening partnerships with diplomatic missions, international organizations, and business partners. You will oversee grant acquisition, mobilize financial resources, manage technical assistance programs, and lead the external relations team to ensure COAF’s program sustainability and enhanced impact.

YOUR TEAM

You will be joining the COAF team and you will work directly under the leadership of COAF Executive Director.

PARTNERSHIP ESTABLISHMENT AND PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
  • Establish and develop new partnerships with diplomatic and international missions, international funds, and prominent non-profit organizations to support and promote COAF’s strategic objectives.
  • Build and foster relationships with business organizations operating in Armenia and abroad to secure support for COAF’s programs.
  • Strengthen and expand cooperation with existing partners to ensure long-term collaboration.
  • Develop strategic plans aimed at attracting new partners and establishing long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct the process of attracting new partners, emphasizing COAF’s strategic goals and social impact.
GRANT ACQUISITION, INSTITUTIONAL AND CORPORATE PARTNER DONATIONS:
  • Ensure the effective implementation of grant search, proposal development, and submission processes in collaboration with other organizational departments.
  • Mobilize financial resources from existing donors, international funds, prominent non-profit organizations, and businesses.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS:
  • Attract technical assistance that contributes to the realization of COAF’s goals.
  • Actively work on integrating COAF’s strategic objectives into the social responsibility programs of business partners.
  • Ensure increased mentions of COAF’s impact and activities in publications or public statements of partners.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
  • Lead and oversee the work of the external relations team.
  • Ensure the professional growth and effective collaboration of team members.
  • Collaborate with other COAF team leaders (work closely with development and communication team managers).
ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESULTS MONITORING:
  • Develop and present regular reports on the activities of the external relations department, grant acquisitions, donations, and established partnerships.
  • Prepare, and when necessary, assist other teams in preparing grant project reports for donors.
  • Present COAF’s impact and success stories on international platforms.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
YOU

We’re expecting your best and require that:

YOU HAVE

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Higher education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in external relations and partnership management.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (both written and verbal); knowledge of Russian and French is desirable.
  • Proven experience in grant writing and proposal development.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
  • Expertise in presenting COAF’s mission and social programs and attracting new partners.
  • Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with international donor organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong skills in working effectively within a team.
WE ARE

The “Children of Armenia” Charitable Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, healthcare, child and family services, as well as social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 82 villages and communities across the country with an investment of more than $70 million, impacting well over 107,000 people across rural Armenia.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and is presently being replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debed, Lori Region.
