Commemorating the Armenian Genocide: A Message of Resilience from Garo Armen

Dear Friends,

As we commemorate the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, I would like to reflect on the profound impact this tragedy has had on our nation and the resilience of our people.

As a descendant of a family who endured the unspeakable horrors of the Genocide, I carry with me the weight of their suffering and the responsibility to ensure that they are never forgotten. The Armenian Genocide was a systematic attempt to erase our history, our culture, and our very existence. But despite the immense loss and trauma, the Armenian spirit has proven to be unbreakable.

Today, as we honor the memory of the 1.5 million lives lost, we also celebrate the strength and determination of those who survived and rebuilt. Their legacy lives on through the work of organizations like the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), which is dedicated to empowering the next generation of Armenians and building a brighter future for our nation.

I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our donors, who share our commitment to creating opportunities for Armenia’s children and investing in the long-term prosperity of our country. Together, we are working to break the cycle of poverty, provide access to quality education and healthcare, and create a progressive path forward for our young people.

We owe it to our ancestors and future generations to regroup and rebuild. This is the driving force behind COAF’s mission, and it is what gives us hope for the future of Armenia.

On this solemn day, let us come together as a community to remember, to honor, and to reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, more resilient Armenia. Together, we will ensure that the voices of our ancestors are heard, and that their legacy endures for generations to come.

With gratitude and hope,
Garo Armen
Founder and Chairman, Children of Armenia Fund (COAF)
