Building H.O.P.E. with HSBC: Providing Homes for Artsakh people

As part of COAF’s project H.O.P.E., we continue our commitment to supporting Artsakh people.

In collaboration with HSBC Armenia, we’re thrilled to share the successful outcome of our joint efforts—a pair of fully renovated houses in the Lori region provided to two big Artsakh families. These homes are equipped with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable and dignified life, aiming to restore the warmth of a true home.

Following their displacement, both families temporarily resided in a guest house—the Babayans in Dsegh and the Mikayelyans in Debet.

Originating from the village of Khantsk in the Askeran district, the Babayan family has a rich educational background, with the grandmother serving as the former principal of a local school, and her daughter-in-law as a history teacher. The retired husband was a former policeman, and the son served in the military. The family comprises two school-aged grandchildren and a newborn.

The Mikayelyans relocated from Khnkavan in the Martakert district, with the majority of their eight family members engaged in work and two children pursuing education—one in school and the other at university.

We anticipate that addressing the housing challenge will significantly improve the quality of life for these families.

Heartfelt thanks to our steadfast partner, HSBC Armenia, whose generous contribution made this impactful initiative possible.
