SMART Expansion Coordinator

YOUR ROLE

The SMART Programs Expansion Coordinator is responsible for developing launch projects for newly opening educational institutions within COAF SMART Centers, ensuring their effective operation and continuous development. The ideal candidate contributes to the adaptation of the SMART education model in new communities by integrating the successful experience of the Lori SMART Center and proposing innovative solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ORGANIZATIONAL TASKS:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the launch of SMART Centers.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and integration of new center teams, collaborating with local specialists and experienced COAF professionals.
  • Develop the organizational structure, job descriptions, and budget models for new centers in collaboration with the team.
  • Coordinate community outreach and engagement initiatives for new SMART Centers.
  • Conduct regular meetings with community, government, and private sector representatives to explore and establish collaboration opportunities.
  • Conduct needs assessments of partner organizations to identify opportunities for collaboration and integrate effective models in new centers.
EDUCATIONAL CONTENT QUALITY ASSURANCE:
  • Support the development of curricula for new SMART Centers, ensuring alignment with local needs and specificities.
  • Design and implement mechanisms for the deployment and assessment of educational programs.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of an impact measurement system to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Carry out regional studies to assess educational needs and labor market trends.
  • Contribute to the development of educational content in collaboration with subject matter experts.
METHODOLOGICAL WORK:
  • Coordinate the development of training materials and methodological guidelines for new center teams, including mapping educational and technical processes.
  • Support the training of new employees, ensuring their seamless integration into the SMART education system.
  • Propose scheduling and logistical strategies for educational programs, ensuring alignment with regional characteristics.
MANAGEMENT AND TEAMWORK
  • Coordinate program committee meetings ensuring the effective execution of decisions.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration with the Lori SMART Center and other COAF divisions to implement best practices and propose innovative solutions.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to the leadership team on center expansion processes and progress.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in educational management, public administration, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills,
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively,
  • Analytical thinking with a data-driven approach to decision-making,
  • Excellent proficiency in English and Armenian (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in digital tools and IT systems,
  • Experience in education management, program planning, and research,
  • Familiarity with international and local educational programs, including their implementation methodologies,
  • Responsibility for data collection, analysis, and presentation.

Experience:

  • Experience in program management or the education sector is preferred. COAF program alumni will be given priority consideration.

The “Children of Armenia” Charitable Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, healthcare, child and family services, as well as social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 82 villages and communities across the country with an investment of more than $70 million, impacting well over 107,000 people across rural Armenia.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and is presently being replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debed, Lori Region.
