If you are a passionate, solution-oriented, creative, and proactive professional with excellent communication skills, then the role of a Social Worker at the COAF (Children of Armenia Charitable Fund) SMART Center of Lori region is an ideal opportunity for you. Your key responsibilities will include:
Case management (70%)
- Identify residents and families in COAF SMART Center’s target villages who are facing risks, and facilitate their referral to the Center.
- Develop individualized development plans for families within the village, oversee the implementation process, ensure service quality, and apply a multidisciplinary approach.
- Establish and maintain a supportive network to aid in the implementation of development plans.
- Provide operational support to the COAF SMART Center.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly monitoring of houses built in Debed and Dsegh villages as part of the “Housing for Artsakhians” project, and compile comprehensive reports.
- Organize introductory sessions on fundamental human rights for new students at the COAF SMART Center.
Community development (30%)
- Participate in community development projects within the SMART Center target villages conducted by COAF.
- Plan and execute training sessions addressing various prevalent social issues within the communities.
- Assist in the execution of projects aimed at fostering development and mitigating social problems.
- Propose and organize community events aligned with international days to raise awareness, promote social responsibility, and underscore the significance of professional services offered.
- Conduct regular assessments of the socio-economic landscape of settlements and households, identifying community strengths and resources.
- Facilitate the formation of volunteer groups and provide guidance to empower them in implementing social initiatives within the community.
YOUR TEAM
Taking on the role of Social Worker means you’ll be an essential part of the COAF Village Programs team. You’ll work under the direct supervision of both the COAF Social Work Manager and the Child and Family Services Coordinator at the Lori COAF SMART Center, benefiting from their guidance and support.

WE ARE
The “Children of Armenia” Charitable Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, healthcare, child and family services, as well as social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 82 villages and communities across the country with an investment of more than $70 million, impacting well over 107,000 people across rural Armenia.
Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and is presently being replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debet, Lori Region.
